WHAT IS EMS TRAINING?

A HIGH INTENSITY LOW IMPACT TRAINING METHOD

EMS training stands for electrical muscle stimulation. This training method stimulates all major muscle groups by passing safe electrical impulses through them. EMS technology mimics signals sent to the central nervous system through electrical impulses that contract your muscles. This advanced technology allows for the benefits of a 90-minute conventional training session to occur in just 20 MINUTES!

HOW IT WORKS

A FITNESS REGIME CATERED SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU!

At Speciale Fitness we believe in working as a community to achieve our goals. Our EMS training method allows for group classes as each workout is tailored to each individual’s fitness level. To explain, every individual’s muscle intensity is controlled individually through a wireless Bluetooth connection to our iPad.

Each workout is tailored to the individual’s needs, with the workouts adaptive enough to vary accordingly. For the elderly or injured, the workout can be extremely mild, while those wanting something a little more rigorous (even elite athletes), can experience a hard-core workout with strong muscle contractions and dynamic exercises.

WHY EMS TRAINING IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN WEIGHT TRAINING.

EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE

The EMS full body workout activates over 90% of the muscle fibres simultaneously during each contraction. This grants an advantage over conventional weight training as deeper muscles are being activated and targeted. Due to EMS  technologies ability to activate  the muscles fibres in a non-regular order, an intense level of training is enabled right from the start. This creates more muscle fibres at an accelerated rate and results in gaining more muscle. Therefore, the use of EMS training allows for a much more rapid effect with visible results, in less time!

Moreover, unlike regular training with weights, EMS fitness training will not put additional pressure on your joints. With the help of a specialist, EMS can typically be used after an injury, aid with and relieve joint pain, correct posture as well as increase  flexibility.

HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF EMS TRAINING

In 1902, a French researcher invented the first stimulation machine which was successfully used to treat muscle atrophy and paralysis. More research followed and 70 years later, two Russian scientists Kotz and Chwilon, proved the outstanding results of muscular stimulation on humans.

Their experiments showed a 30-40% increase in muscular strength through this technology! These studies also proved that minimal physiological and mental efforts need to be utilized to see results in only a short period of time. Back then, EMS training was mainly used in therapy for the treatment/rehabilitation of muscle atrophy and muscle imbalance.

Additionally, it was used in professional sports to improve overall performance and muscle composition in athletes.Today, training with electrical muscle stimulation has become a proven training method which is gaining popularity all over the world.

WHAT TO EXPECT

ARRIVE

We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled session time. Before you come in for your first EMS workout, we recommend that you are hydrated and most importantly, get ready for an amazing, one-of-a-kind workout.

SUIT UP

Your trainer will begin the suit-up process! We start with

watering down the electrodes found on the vest,

bottoms and arm bands to ensure optimal conduction.

We tighten and fit the suit to you and once complete,

you’re ready to go.

SET UP

Once you arrive for your session you may come dressed or change into your undergarments that are provided to you by Speciale Fitness. If there is extra time before your session, clients have access to our Fit-3D scanner, Carol Bike, and grab water.

THE BENEFITS EXPLAINED

SAVE TIME

Normally, when. training in a gym between 40%-70% of your potential strength is used.  EMS, state-of-the-art technology allows your body to use up to 90% of its potential and achieve more in a shorter amount of time. This is possible as it works all major muscle groups at the same time while also improving the functioning muscles by increasing the intensity of each muscle contraction. Our unique technology and coaching will help you improve your overall health with 1-2  20 minute training sessions a week!

LOOSE WEIGHT

EMS Training is an optimal solution for lasting weight loss and fat removal. To explain, EMS encourages a high level of metabolic activity during and after training that assists the body in burning fat. In the case of women, it has been proven that EMS training reduces the size of the most common problem areas, such as the waist, hips and thighs, or helps to lose weight.

BUILD MUSCLE

EMS training balances out the muscular system as it works for all 300 muscle groups at the same time.  The extra stimulation that your muscles receive during an EMS training session is what results in an increase in muscle mass or hypertrophy.  This is done through the technologies ability to reach muscle fibres that are not activated through traditional conventional training methods.  After a few training sessions, an increase in the size of muscles in the chest, arms and legs is normally noticed.

TONE UP

Full body EMS training can help you get your muscle-toned burn fat and reduce cellulite. Circulation of the muscular and connective tissues will be enhanced, which can lead to firmer and more toned skin and play an important role in cellulite reduction. EMS is designed to enable the selection of specific muscle groups. This is especially important if you want to correct muscle imbalances.

RELIEVE JOINTS

Unlike regular training with weights, EMS fitness training will not put additional pressure on your joints. With the help of a specialist, EMS can typically be used after an injury, aid with and relieve joint pain, correct posture and increase flexibility. It allows for less pressure on your musculoskeletal system. The electrodes are arranged in a way that makes it possible to carry out effective work without impairing comfort. The intensity of the training does not derive from heavy loads the way that weights do, but instead from the electrical stimulation making training gentle on joints.

REDUCE CELLULITE

EMS acts on soft tissues, such as fat cells and connective tissue. It can help to reduce the appearance of cellulitis by improving circulation, eliminating toxins, toning muscles and stimulating the production of collagen and blood flow in the skin. Circulation of the muscular and connective tissues will be enhanced, which can lead to firmer and more toned skin and play an important role in cellulite reduction.

BOOST METABOLISM

Burn between 700 - 1,000 calories!  EMS training allows for an enhanced boost in your metabolism as it activates muscle fibres that are not activated through traditional training. This is done through the machine's ability to mimic the natural action of your central nervous system, sending electrical impulses that contract your muscles. Through this ability, there is a significantly higher boost to your metabolism that will allow your body to burn fat and build lean muscle more effectively.

POSTPARTUM RECOVERY

Who would have thought that electrical muscle stimulation could help after pregnancy? EMS training can help to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor, which are normally stretched and weakened after pregnancy and can cause loss of bladder control. Electrical muscle stimulation may be one of your best allies when it comes to recovering from the damage caused to the pelvic floor due to pregnancy. With a few sessions of EMS, you will begin to notice that the discomfort, urinary incontinence, or any other consequences you may have suffered after giving birth are completely gone. All this with a method that will also help you speed up your metabolism, allowing you to burn fat and eliminate any excess weight after giving birth.
